Beginning in 2010, Rolls-Royce expanded its modern lineup with models designed to combine advanced engineering with the brand’s traditional hand-built luxury, including the Rolls-Royce Ghost, the Rolls-Royce Wraith, and the Rolls-Royce Dawn. Developed under the ownership of BMW and produced at the Goodwood Motor Cars Manufacturing Plant, these vehicles were engineered with a modern steel and aluminum hybrid structure designed for rigidity, refinement, and dynamic performance. All three models utilized a powerful twin-turbocharged V12 engine paired with advanced electronic suspension systems and precision steering, delivering the effortless acceleration and smooth ride expected of Rolls-Royce.
While the underlying engineering incorporated contemporary automotive technologies, the build process continued to emphasize traditional craftsmanship. Interiors were assembled largely by hand using premium leather, carefully matched natural wood veneers, and finely machined metal components, while exterior finishes required extensive multi-layer painting and polishing to achieve the deep gloss associated with the brand. The Wraith, as a grand touring coupe, featured a more performance-oriented tuning, while the Dawn required additional structural reinforcement to maintain rigidity as a convertible. Together, these models reflected Rolls-Royce’s approach in the modern era: combining advanced engineering, powerful yet refined performance, and meticulous hand-built luxury.
