This is the retaining clip for the under bonnet sound deadening pad. These clips slide into each other so they act as both the male and female. For each retaining point on the pad you need two of these plus the retaining washer UB81654.
Originally the pads were retained by a male clip SPM1406 and a female SPM1407.
